Children (Indian nationals) under 18 years of age belonging to needy families advised to undergo a Liver transplant are eligible to apply for the fund assistance.

Foreign children (non-Indian nationals) from developing countries and with underprivileged economic background undergoing Liver transplant in India are considered fund support on a case to case basis.

There are certain documents required to proceed with the application process i.e. patient clinical summary, financial/ income information, cost estimate for liver transplant (provided by hospital) and other relevant documentation to support your funding request.

No. A parent/ patient family member can raise an enquiry with our NGO, after which TPAF will connect with the treating Hospital to further the application process and collect the application and relevant documents.

It is preferred that the funding request is sent to TPAF before the Liver transplant is performed. However, in case the request is sent after the Liver transplant has been performed, rationale for the same has to be provided for further review by TPAF.

After complete application documentation is received, it usually takes 2-3 working days for a decision on a funding request. However, considering the nature of the Liver transplant- planned or urgent, the processing time for funding requests may vary, but TPAF aims to review and respond to application as quickly as possible.

Funding amount may vary case to case. We evaluate each case individually to determine the appropriate funding amount.

TPAF currently does not have provision for post-transplant care and follow-up expenses.

The fund support is transferred directly to the treating Hospital after completion of the Liver transplant, discharge of the patient and submission of the disbursement request.

Yes. TPAF has partnered with multiple Liver transplant Centres across India, it can help you connect with the Liver transplant team at any of these partner Hospitals for consultation and opinion. However, the final decision of selecting a Centre for undergoing the Liver transplant has to be taken by the patient family/ caregiver.

Hospital to connect with TPAF at email- info@tpaf.in or helpline- +91-7768853030 with a request to empanel with us. TPAF representative will share a Hospital Onboarding form with the Hospital. Hospital to share filled Hospital Onboarding form, cost estimate of the Pediatric Liver Transplant and available historical data on liver transplant surgeries performed and their outcomes with TPAF. After review of the above documents, TPAF will connect with the Hospital to inform the status of empanelment and further process of application for funds.

As and when a needy child requires a Liver transplant, the partner Hospital to share the Patient Application Form along with supporting documents with TPAF. TPAF will review the application and details of financial due diligence shared by the hospital. TPAF will connect with Hospital to inform the status of fund approval and further management.

After the liver transplant is completed and patient is discharged, the Hospital to share the fund disbursement request along with a set of predefined documents with TPAF. TPAF will review the request and process the transfer of funds directly to the Hospital. Hospital to share an acknowledgment letter/receipt for the funds received for the particular child.
