In a world whose children should be free to explore and grow, little Aayush’s life was suddenly overshadowed by a devastating diagnosis: acute liver failure. Aayush’s family was thrown into turmoil as they grappled with the emotional and financial burdens of his life-threatening condition. With limited resources and a desperate need for immediate medical intervention, they found themselves trapped in a seemingly insurmountable situation.

Aayush had visibly dark yellow eyes and a swollen stomach due to which he was suddenly admitted into KEM Hospital Pune for 1 week. Within that time period doctors understood the need of liver transplant for this 2-year-old kid through various tests and failed medications.

Aayush’s parents, Swapnil and Priyanka, were devastated when their son received this daunting diagnosis. The family was told that a liver transplant was Aayush’s only hope for survival. However, the estimated financial burden of 18 lakhs seemed like an insurmountable obstacle for this humble family. Furthermore, with the need to make travel and living arrangements, considering they resided 55 kilometers away in Tal Shirur, every aspect of the situation was becoming a source of stress.

The family embarked on a tireless quest to find a suitable liver donor for Aayush. They wanted to identify potential donors and ensure that Aayush received the best possible care. A suitable liver donor was found, and Mr. Swapnil, the father, was found to be fit as a donor. The family was under immense pressure and stress, knowing that the two most important people in their life were going to undergo an operation. Additionally, the fact that the earning member of the family wouldn’t be working for a few weeks added to their worries. It was a tough time for Mrs. Priyanka and her family.

News of Aayush’s plight reached the compassionate ears of TPAF committed to helping families by Enabling Access to Liver Care. Recognizing the urgency of Aayush’s condition, TPAF sprang into action, determined to provide the necessary financial support for his life-saving liver transplant.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, the Hospital embarked on a comprehensive fundraising campaign to secure the funds required for Aayush’s transplant. The response was overwhelming, as individuals, businesses, and organizations rallied together, united in their mission to save Aayush’s life.

The family worked tirelessly, collaborating with renowned medical institutions, transplant centers, and expert healthcare professionals to ensure the success of Aayush’s transplant. They coordinated medical appointments, facilitated consultations, and tirelessly advocated for Aayush’s well-being.

Recognizing the emotional toll that the situation took on Aayush’s family, the hospital doctors and support team provided them with much-needed emotional support throughout the journey. They assigned a compassionate caseworker Mr. Pratik Deshmukh, who acted as a liaison, offering guidance, reassurance, and a comforting presence.

With the necessary funds secured and a suitable donor identified, Aayush underwent the life-saving liver transplant on 12th August 2022. It was in KEM Hospital Pune under Dr. Shashank Shrotriya and Dr. Snehvardhan Pandey for 26 days. The family was provided with all the emotional help and financial support under Mr. Pratik Deshmukh.

The surgery was successful, and Aayush began his remarkable journey toward recovery.

Months after the transplant, Aayush’s health began to improve. The once-pale cheeks regained their rosy color, and his infectious laughter filled the air once more. With each passing day, Aayush grew stronger, regaining his energy and embracing the joys of childhood. The intervention of the NGOs not only saved Aayush’s life but also gave him the opportunity to experience a future filled with hope, dreams, and endless possibilities.
